Mid and South Bedfordshire Distrit Councils (Central Bedfordshire)

A major business harmonisation exercise that saw the creation of a new Unitary Council by combining the functions of 2 District Councils and the County Council functions.

Central Bedfordshire Council is a new unitary Council formed from Mid Beds DC and South Beds DC and Bedfordshire County Council.

In December 2008, Modena completed delivery of a project that has delivered:

  • A business case and project plan, for the delivery of efficiencies quantified to deliver savings of £“many millions” per annum
  • Documentation of current policy differences and working practices, and design of harmonised policies and improved working practices
  • A programme and action plan for transformation that has been adopted by the executive management and is being implemented across the new organisation.
