Customer First Business Case

The objective of this assignment is to develop a detailed business case for Customer First, building on the outline business case already delivered.

This should agree a model for Customer Services, identify resources required and devise a Programme scope that Bournemouth Borough Council can deliver.

The assignment will involve the following

  • Engagement with senior officers and members to further develop and clarify the visiTon for Customer First and confirm the options to be considered
  • To engage with key officers and partner organisations as appropriate
  • To understand and document the issues, suggestions and concerns of all key stakeholder groups and consider these in the assessment of options
  • Undertake an analysis of certain key service areas to gather quantitative data to identify where benefits may be realised
  • To develop options for future roll-out of Customer First and recommend the most appropriate
  • To document the findings in a detailed Business Case, including a proposed service roll-out plan
  • To assist with the presentation and sign-off of the Business Case with Senior Officers and Members

Strategic ICT Review

The objective of this assignment was to provide advice and assistance to the Strategic ICT manager who was conducting the internal review of ICT services.

Advice and guidance to cover such things as:

  • The process of review and the engagement style
  • Future business requirements to be supported and the consequential demands on ICT
  • Technical architectures to support the future needs of the council
  • Industry best practice and experience gained from other Councils
  • Review of ICT processes and current practices

Where requested, Modena consultants will attend or facilitate workshops in conjunction with the Strategic ICT Manager.

Modena consultants will also contribute content to the final ICT strategy review deliverables as agreed with the Strategic ICT Manager.

e-Procurement Business Case

The objective of this assignment is to develop a business case for e-procurement roll-out within Bournemouth Borough Council.

The assignment will involve the following:

  • Identifying key e-procurement stakeholders and planning their involvement
  • Review the capabilities of the chosen e-procurement solution (@UK Plc)
  • Review the objectives and outcome of the pilot implementation
  • Workshop opportunities presented by e-procurement with key procurement stakeholders
  • Develop options for future roll-out
  • Develop a business case for future exploitation of e-procurement within BBC, including the development of a costed benefit model and a roll-out plan and timetable
